Meet The Farm Family
Welcome Here! We are Cordell & Jackie Campbell, and together with our houseful of 5 sons ages 2-18, we own and operate Laughing Duck Ranch. Our small family farm is situated in the beautiful Parkland region of Manitoba, a few miles east of McCreary, and about a 20 minute drive from the East Gate of Riding Mountain National Park. We sell Grass fed lamb and Grass fed beef direct to consumers, and are passionate about getting high quality, nutritious food onto the tables of Manitoba families!
How it all Began
We had always dreamed of living in the country, but became seriously interested in the health of our food shortly after the birth of our first son. We wanted to do our best to give him a healthy start, and as we learned more about nutrition, we increasingly sought out raw, organic, and whole foods. We soon found that it was often difficult to find what we were looking for, and so our journey into food production began. We spent 2010 - 2017 hobby farming on 5 acres east of Winnipeg, learning how to raise chickens, milk cows, grow gardens, and grind our own grains. It wasn't long before we fell in love with the lifestyle and knew we wanted to try farming full time. In April 2018, our dream became a reality, and we packed up our family and our animals, and moved to across the province to begin our new life as full time farmers. We are grateful that we have had the opportunity to raise our boys on the farm, and to learn and grow together. What began years ago as a conviction for feeding our family wholesome, nutrient dense food, has blossomed into an all-out farming/ranching adventure!
How We Farm
Here at Laughing Duck Ranch, we operate according to the principles of regenerative agriculture. We acknowledge the complexity and design of the natural world, and we seek to imitate nature in our farming practices. We focus on improving soil health, increasing biodiversity, and building resilience into our landscape. We desire to steward our land in a way that is beneficial not only for us, but for our animals, our wildlife, our environment, our local community, and the generations to come.
